Perfect Transition Shift Dress

Hey y'all,

Today I am sharing the perfect shift dress to take you from summer into fall! I picked this up from the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale. The sale is no longer going on, but the dress is still available and less than $50! This dress is light and airy so you can be comfortable in the warmer summer months, but the longer sleeves and modest cut make it a perfect dress to wear in the fall! I especially love this beautiful wine color which just screams fall to me.

I styled it with my favorite Target mules which are summer or fall appropriate. I definitely plan on wearing this dress with tights and booties when the temps get cooler. I also wore my Kendra Scott Rayne necklace in "mint" for some color contrast. I carried my leopard clutch that I just love to carry in the fall. You could wear this dress with a scarf, throw on a belt, layer a leather jacket, the possibilities are endless! This will definitely be on repeat over the next several months.

I apologize for the poor quality of the photos...we were chasing sunlight and running late for dinner!

One of the best things about living in San Fran is that everyone wants to come visit! My dear friend Phoebe was in town with her husband for his job, but she was able to come spend a day and have a sleepover with me one of the nights she was here. Phoebe and I taught together in Texas and it was so great getting to catch up and have some girl time! We did a little shopping in the city and Phoebe wanted me to help her pick out some "back to school" outfits.

She has amazing arms and lives in Texas where it's a million degrees, so a sleeveless top is a must! I love the high low hem of this top and it is in that perfect transition to fall color, wine. It's a great option for teaching or for the weekend. She also picked up a Lush blouse that is just too stinkin cute on her! I may have picked up another one of these shift dresses but in a floral pattern...  :)

Pretty sure Matt was trying to "pose" us for this one...we just cracked up!
