So today I am starting a little "back to school" series. As a teacher, this time of year is always pretty hectic trying to get a classroom all set up and get your mind wrapped around going back to work. This year, things are a little different for me now that I am in a new state! I have accepted a part time job at a school that I am super excited about!! So, in the spirit of going back to school (teachers and students alike), or work, or just wanting to make life a little easier, I am going to dedicate some posts on professional work outfits, work/school appropriate (and easy!) makeup, healthy packed lunches, etc. All the good stuff to help you go back to work or get back in the swing of things!
Part one of this series is a great (and affordable) work outfit. I recently picked up this black and white gingham top from Target. I know I will be wearing this all fall! I love how it looks with the bright green cardi (also from Target). I paired it with a simple black skirt, but you could just as easily wear it with white denim, black pants, or regular denim for a dressed up casual feel. I have always liked green and leopard together. Something about that combo just pops so I wore my leopard heels (leopard flats would be more realistic for teaching!). I think that any outfit can be stepped up a noch by throwing on some pearls. This layered pearl necklace was from a JCrew outlet, but I linked a similar one in the outfit details. Hopefully you can use this as inspiration to get you geared up for whatever new adventures are heading your way, whether it's work, school, or new routines!
Outfit details:
Shirt is from Target (can't find it online...but I just bought it this week!) / Cardigan is from Target (not a lot of color options online...definitely check the store) / Skirt is from Loft (on sale for $25 off!)/ Shoes are old from Banana Republic, similar here / Necklace is old from JCrew, similar here / Earrings are Kendra Scott / Watch is Kate Spade / Bag is Tory Burch / Lips are MAC in Saint Germain
Hope y'all have a great weekend!
I'm really enjoying your blog! I remember what you wore when I interviewed you! You were SO very, very classy! This outfit is amazing for school. Excited about your new teaching adventure.
