Oklahoma Strong

Hey y'all!

Today I am sharing one of my favorite outfits for OU football! This dress if perfect for game day. If you're not a Sooner fan, that's okay! There is nothing more classic than red and white. Plus this vest...y'all I wear it at least once a week (that is a lie, more like twice a week....at least). It is so soft and keeps you nice and warm. Just trust me when I say that you need it in your life.

I shot these photos last week but had a crazy busy week in the grad school world and then my wonderful inlaws came in town so I am just now getting around to post them. I think it is even more appropriate that I remember my alma mater in this post after the tragedy that took place at our sister school, Oklahoma State University this past weekend. Yes, OU and OSU are rival schools but the greatest thing about Oklahoma is the way that we join together during hard times. My heart is broken over the senseless act that took innocent lives. Praying for the victims' families and everyone who was affected. During times like this, we aren't Sooners or Pokes, but Oklahomans who lift each other up during heartache. Hope you enjoy this look and remember to squeeze your loved ones extra tight!

Fall Brights

Hey y'all!

We are officially well into the fall season and I hope you are loving it as much as I am! In the fall, I always gravitate towards more neutral colors (think cream, camel, olive, etc.) as well as deep jewel tones (emerald, navy, burgundy, etc.). Today I am sharing how I incorporate bright colors into the fall season! I try to make an effort to wear bright colors here and there so my wardrobe doesn't become to "typical fall". Hope you enjoy!

 

I really love how the bright orangey/red sweater and yellow scarf pop along with the bright jewelry. I kept it from going overboard with a neutral bag and booties. Of course, the easiest way to rock bright colors in the fall is with a bright lip! Loving this shade from Bite Beauty. So go on, be BOLD and rock those fun colors this season! One Of Those Days...

Hey y'all!

Have you every had one of those days where you felt like you just couldn't get it together? Today was one of those days for me! I had such great intentions on getting so many things done today....but unfortunately I was on the struggle bus. I have a couple big assignments coming up for grad school that I fully intended on making serious headway on them today, but I failed. Miserably. I also picked up a new hair product that I such high hopes for! Sadly, that too was a fail today. When I was feeling really sorry for my self this afternoon and focusing on all of my failures (first world problems, I know) I decided this is not how I want to spend the rest of my day. So, I talked to Jesus, put on some lipstick, and decided to make the best of the rest of the beautiful day that the Lord has made! Can I get an amen?? It is amazing what a little perspective can do! And maybe a little glass of wine...

Today I am sharing a look that I wore out in the city this weekend for Fleet Week. It was one of my favorite days in San Francisco! A group of us had lunch at the St. Francis Yacht Club and then watched the air show from the balcony there. It was incredible!!! The Blue Angels flew right over our heads. Awesome. I had such great intentions of taking pictures of this outfit while we were out by the water, but we were drinking some excellent wine and champagne at the yacht club soooo those pictures just didn't happen. Anyways, I am obsessed with this vest. It is such a fall/winter staple and it's a soft white so it goes with literally everything. Hope you enjoy!!

Disclosure: The hair product I referred to earlier was the Tresemme Perfectly Undone Sea Salt Spray. I had visions of spritzing it into my hair and letting my hair air dry to beautiful beachy waved perfection. It did not. So I apologize for the frizziness that is my hair in these photos. Just keepin it real.

Pumpkin Everything!

Hey y'all!

So last week, Matt and I went to a precious lil pumpkin patch near our house. It's the funniest thing, there are tons of these little pumpkin stands all over Marin (the county we live in) and they all have huge blow up moon bounces and slides and such. I mean, who doesn't love picking out pumpkins after a good jump in the moon bounce?! We picked out some great pumpkins to help our home feel "fall ready". I also included a few pictures of some of the little ways that I've incorporated fall and Halloween into our home decor. I also included my outfit details. How cute is gingham and leopard together?? I just love it! Hope you're having a great fall season so far!!
